Are Disney and Luxury really synonymous?

Living just outside of Manhattan, there are two responses we receive when we say we are going to Disney World… Either a smirk, followed up by a “Good Luck, Have fun”, or a look of disdain accompanied by the words “Why would you go there?” Both of these come from friends and acquaintances who have either gone for short trips where they are trying to fit in as many rides and parades as possible, or from those who have heard horror stories from the former group and have firmly decided NEVER to go. This group of people would never dream of staying in anything less than a four star hotel, let alone schlep through hoards of sweaty, fanny-pack wearing families trying to make it to their next fast pass on the other side of the park. But this is only a halfway view of what Disney has to offer… You can make your trip what you want it to be. Disney does have the potential to be a luxury trip, complete with amazing hotels, fine dining, and upscale events. And so that has become my mission… To spread the word that there is a way to make enjoyable family memories for the children who are begging to see Mickey and ride Space Mountain, while Mom & Dad maintain their dignity and enjoy quality cabana time at the Four Seasons.
